Lord of the Rings

Each year, right after Christmas, we get out the projector, set up a little home theater and watch all three LOTR movies. It's just about my favorite time of year! Lindsay teases me that I look forward to this more than Christmas. Last night Jani, Mom, Dad, and Melanie came over to watch "Fellowship." Tonight we are doing "Two Towers." These movies are about as perfect as you can get in cinema. Can't wait for the extended Blu-Ray editions.

  1. I'm already looking forward to next year. :) I always notice new things every time I watch these. The Helm's Deep battle, which is often my least favorite part, was really rich and exciting to me this time.

  2. Regan and I looked at each other right after Christmas and said, "Its LOTR time." You have put it in our brains to watch it at least once a year even if we are not there to see it with you. That story has majorly shaped my mentality on so many things in life. Every time I cry at the end that Frodo can't find a way to live a normal life after feeling so much pain. I feel those feelings so often in my treatment, that I wonder if I will ever be able have a normal life after being through such an intense battle for my life. But this last time I watched with Reg he helped me look at it in another way that wasn't so depressing. There is so much to draw from that story and movie!! Not to mention Elijah Wood is hoooottt! And I knew he was destined for greatness since 6th grade when I kissed his Radio Flyer picture on my wall every night before bed. Sorry. I talk a lot after midnight.
