Love for JT

Timberlake's album The 20/20 Experience has been a long time in coming. Lindsay got me a copy today and I haven't stopped listening to it! My admiration for JT borders on inappropriate. Get the album and enjoy!

He was on Jimmy Fallon (the best late night host ever) as part of "Timberweek." Hilarious sketches and great musical performances. My favorite was the camp out. Very funny stuff...

Big Smiles

This was quite the week in teeth for a couple of our boys. Max lost one of his front teeth (his other front tooth isn't far behind) and Kam got BRACES! I can't really empathize with Kam because I never had to get braces. It's surprising, since I sucked my thumb till I was 13...

5 Years Old!

Today (Mar. 13) is Brynn's 5th birthday! Her favorite thing is horses and not eating anything. For her birthday we took her out a day early. We had some pizza (which she ate) at California Pizza Kitchen...

You know how they say that the camera adds 10 pounds, well in my case I think it adds 10 inches to my forehead. Holy frick.

Then we walked over to Build-a-Bear for Brynn's first adoption? I think they call it. Anyway, she picked a kitten and named it Fluffy. The guy helping her was pretty awesome. He only had one hand, but he was amazing at putting that cat together.

She didn't really like rubbing the heart on her hair, belly, lips, etc.
She didn't want to stop giving her kitty a bath.

The other night we were closing things up when we found a song that Brynn had recorded on the DS. We listened to this thing at least ten times and could not stop laughing. I love my little girl so much!

My Stomach Is Just So Happy

Tonight Lindsay and I went to our favorite restaurant, Pizzeria 712. It's been a while since we've been and with it being the beginning of the month, we can afford to go a little crazy on meals. We have had many great meals there, but tonight was truly the best we've EVER had!

Let me break it down for you, shall I? We began with the braised short rib on anson mills polenta, with the horseradish cream on the side, because let's face it, horseradish is the equivalent of shizzing on your food. This starter is always fabulous, but tonight the rib was falling apart like cake and the polenta had the most amazing crunch. I was tempted to drink the broth when finished.

Then we moved on to a pizza that cannot be properly described because nothing but having a slice yourself will do it anything close to justice. Hand pulled mozzerella, grana padano, chive, and sundried tomato romesco. I have no idea what the crap romesco is, but my toes tingled and my ears heard unicorns braying. Heaven, pure and simple. I almost ordered a second to go.

I went and talked to our chef (who I swear was the twin brother of Zachary Levi) and told him how much we loved this pizza. Five minutes later he brought a free dessert to our table! So we got to end the night with some Winder Farms buttermilk panna cotta with orange citrus glaze. Lindsay and I were just giggling with how much we were loving our night. I cannot tell you how much I love enjoying good food with my beauty.

Happy Birthday, Lindsay!

I love my wife! There are so many ways that I could describe just how special she is... so many characteristics and perfect attributes that make her who she is. But anyone who reads this has met her--and you know just how wonderful she is. I will say that what I love most about her is her unselfish and faithful love for me, Kam, Adam, Max and Brynn. My life is blessed beyond measure because of Lindsay. Happy Birthday, Baby!

My two favorite girls!
I love it when Lindsay does her hair like this. Beehive.

Isn't she so beautiful?!

Love for Sherlock Holmes

One of my favorite movies when I was a kid was Young Sherlock Holmes. It had a creepy side to it that gave me a few nightmares, but I thought it was a great adventure. The new adaptation with Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law is just a ton of fun! I had a sick day last week and watched Game of Shadows again. I enjoyed it the first time, but it was much better the second time around. I posted my love for Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock a couple times in the past. One of my top three favorite television shows ever produced!

And now Lindsay and I are wrapped up in the best show on TV right now (sorry Justified--you're not bringing it this year): ELEMENTARY starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Lui. Every episode is better than the last. Miller is a fantastic actor! Cumberbatch is my favorite, but Miller has an amazing take on the character. Quirky, mysterious, hilarious...love it. I am caught up in Sherlock Holmes lately. I even feel inspired to read some of the original tales by Doyle and watch a few of the Basil Rathbone serials. Anyone have a recommendation on where to start?

Will you be my Valentine?

When Kam was in kindergarten...

...he came home with a valentine that a girl had put in his cubby. He fought back the tears as he explained to us that he didn't want this girl to like him.

Here we are 7 years later...

Sorry. No good photos of my boy lately--but he sure looks grown up.
...and Kam asked a girl to be his valentine. He brought some chocolates over to her house and 30 minutes later she showed up with this:

And so it begins.

Harry Potter and Kam

Kam is reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and got to the half way point, so last night we made a night of watching Part One and eating something sweet from Kneaders. I'm reminded again of how great a storyteller J.K. Rowling is. Grand, emotional, complex, compelling... I love these books! I'm also so happy with how the movies turned out. They had a bit of a rough start (trying to include too much of the books, actors a bit stiff), but ended up playing out the exact right tone. Watch film 6 and 7 again to see just how great these three actors have become. Perfectly cast all around. It was a fun night.

Best of Coldplay

I've been a Coldplay fan since Parachutes (what a great debut album!). Went pretty obsessive with Rush of Blood to the Head and their first concert cd/dvd. X&Y was only okay and I didn't really care for Viva la Vida. I think that Mylo Xyloto has been a great return to their original sound, but still experimenting. Overall, they are great songwriters, hit makers, performers... I was listening to a song the other day and thought I'd try to make a top 10 list. Not an easy thing to do.

10. "Hurts Like Heaven"
9. "Amsterdam"
8. "A Message"
7. "Shiver"
6. "Warning Sign"
5. "Sparks"
4. "See You Soon"
3. "Clocks"
2. "Life in Technicolor ii" (one of my favorite music videos ever)
1. "Charlie Brown"

Did I miss some of your favs?
