This past week was my spring production of Fiddler on the Roof. I have never directed youth in a show like this before. Past credits include Willy Wonka, Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty... all of them light and comedic. A couple years back I had a very rewarding experience with Emperor's New Clothes because of writing the script--it was my baby. But Fiddler gave me a chance to try a lot of new things. Can kids portray emotion? Can they show true realism? If you work with a cast like this, then YES! I wasn't sure they could do it and our tech week stressed me out way too much. But they pulled it together when it mattered and put on a show that I was so proud of. This was a very fulfilling week for me. I will miss these kids very much...

Gnocchi
Scratch made, pan fried riccota gnocchi with tomato rosata sauce. Seriously? Yeah.
Do they taste like little nuggets of heaven? Yeah.

Love for JT
Timberlake's album The 20/20 Experience has been a long time in coming. Lindsay got me a copy today and I haven't stopped listening to it! My admiration for JT borders on inappropriate. Get the album and enjoy!
He was on Jimmy Fallon (the best late night host ever) as part of "Timberweek." Hilarious sketches and great musical performances. My favorite was the camp out. Very funny stuff...

Big Smiles
This was quite the week in teeth for a couple of our boys. Max lost one of his front teeth (his other front tooth isn't far behind) and Kam got BRACES! I can't really empathize with Kam because I never had to get braces. It's surprising, since I sucked my thumb till I was 13...

5 Years Old!
Today (Mar. 13) is Brynn's 5th birthday! Her favorite thing is horses and not eating anything. For her birthday we took her out a day early. We had some pizza (which she ate) at California Pizza Kitchen...
Then we walked over to Build-a-Bear for Brynn's first adoption? I think they call it. Anyway, she picked a kitten and named it Fluffy. The guy helping her was pretty awesome. He only had one hand, but he was amazing at putting that cat together.
The other night we were closing things up when we found a song that Brynn had recorded on the DS. We listened to this thing at least ten times and could not stop laughing. I love my little girl so much!
You know how they say that the camera adds 10 pounds, well in my case I think it adds 10 inches to my forehead. Holy frick. |

She didn't really like rubbing the heart on her hair, belly, lips, etc. |
She didn't want to stop giving her kitty a bath. |

My Stomach Is Just So Happy
Tonight Lindsay and I went to our favorite restaurant, Pizzeria 712. It's been a while since we've been and with it being the beginning of the month, we can afford to go a little crazy on meals. We have had many great meals there, but tonight was truly the best we've EVER had!
Let me break it down for you, shall I? We began with the braised short rib on anson mills polenta, with the horseradish cream on the side, because let's face it, horseradish is the equivalent of shizzing on your food. This starter is always fabulous, but tonight the rib was falling apart like cake and the polenta had the most amazing crunch. I was tempted to drink the broth when finished.
Then we moved on to a pizza that cannot be properly described because nothing but having a slice yourself will do it anything close to justice. Hand pulled mozzerella, grana padano, chive, and sundried tomato romesco. I have no idea what the crap romesco is, but my toes tingled and my ears heard unicorns braying. Heaven, pure and simple. I almost ordered a second to go.
I went and talked to our chef (who I swear was the twin brother of Zachary Levi) and told him how much we loved this pizza. Five minutes later he brought a free dessert to our table! So we got to end the night with some Winder Farms buttermilk panna cotta with orange citrus glaze. Lindsay and I were just giggling with how much we were loving our night. I cannot tell you how much I love enjoying good food with my beauty.
