Long live the Pumpkin Man!

A few weeks ago we paid the 1600 N Pumpkin Man a visit. It's one of my favorite nights of the year. We choose some pumpkins, get a treat at Kneaders, go home and watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown while eating popcorn. I love my family, especially around the holidays.

Mary Poppins

Our kids have recently discovered Mary Poppins. I love it! This was one of my favorites growing up and is probably in my top 10 of all time. The movie holds up so well and is just a classic. The performances are fantastic (other that Van Dyke's accent). It's funny, touching and pure feel-good. If you haven't seen it lately, do yourself a favor and re-discover!

Birthday Surprise

Lindsay surprised me this last Friday with an overnighter to Zermatt Resort in Midway. What a perfect present! I absolutely love Midway. If we had the means I would live there in a minute. We had a great time driving and walking around. We ate at the resort pub and watched the BYU game. What a beautiful place!

End of Watch

One of my favorite things is to get together with Keller and go see a late night movie. The other night we saw End of Watch. Wow. What a great film. I remember as a teenager seeing Boyz in the Hood and being really affected by it--the world of South Central L.A. This same world is portrayed in a new way in this movie and it's a scary thing. It's so close to us and yet it's such a foreign world. Gyllenhaal was fantastic and Michael Pena has always been a favorite. Harsh film, but I loved it. Couldn't get it out of my head.

Adam and I got to spend some time alone at the Park. Lindsay took the others back to the hotel for a rest. This was my favorite time this trip. I love my Adam! He has such a wonderful heart.

Disneyland-Day 3

I think one of my favorite things about going to Disneyland is waking up knowing that the day ahead of me is just time spent with my kids in a place I love. I don't have to worry about school or games or schedules or test scores, etc. It's just a break. But it's usually Day 3 when my mind starts realizing that I only have one more day...

Kam refused to stand in for this picture. Right now he's too cool. In a few years he'll go through the phase of thinking it's cool to get a photo with Mickey--because then he can show his girlfriends and they'll go, "Awwwww, look how cute."

On Day 2 we went to California Adventure. I think it was the highlight of our trip! I loved the new Cars Land.
